ABOUT THE MIX:

Now, if you’ve been following the podcast, you know how much I really love the rave scene, and especially the timeframe known as “The Golden Age” of Rave — the 1990’s. This month’s mix came to me because I was inspired by a set a friend of mine played at a gig recently. He killed it (regardless of what he’ll tell you — we’re always over critical of our own mixes, right?), and the whole place was dancing HARD. Myself included.

I missed that. The all-night long events that get right to the point, and don’t let up until dawn. They had a sick lineup, and everyone brought their A-game too. So, this month’s mix was inspired by that night, and if I was asked to play, this is what I would have put together. This mix travels fast at about 144-145 BPM, and while there are moments where you can catch your breath, don’t think for one blessed second about sitting down. If you wanted a workout, a mix that’ll test your endurance, then look no further because you’ve hit paydirt.

I had a awesome time putting this mix together, and I was immediately teleported to those nights where sweat ran down the walls like it was raining indoors. Everyone was smiling, the DJ would look up every so often to make sure everyone was keeping up, It was heaven. All the tracks listed below have this insane energy inside them that evolves as the track plays out. Sheer excellence.
