BUDDHA BEATS 84-DARK TECHNO MIX

ABOUT THE MIX:

Hello and welcome to the first mix of 2023! For this mix, I wanted to take this mix to some of the harder, darker, ravey areas of the techno genre. I feel that the mixing of these fourteen tracks do a really good job of getting that vibe across. These are tracks that remind me of those illegal raves from the 1990’s with the energy they hold.

There are times where you’ll feel it’s just monotonous, the incessant kick drum pounding away. But I invite you to take a closer listen to the music surrounding the kick drum. There is more there. There are sound effects, atonal melodies and off-kilter patterns that exist there. There will be times where you think the whole thing is spiraling out of control, and then somehow it snaps back into place. If you’ve found that that’s what you’re hearing, then that’s great! There is syncopation happening all over, and they all contribute to one another. Soon, you will find comfort. Sometimes during the beat, other times it’ll be during the break. But your body will move in time to the pattern that speaks to you. And it may be different than the one created by the kick. If so, then I have reached one of many goals in this mix. Enjoy!
